Money in Your Pocket Coalition-Free Tax Preparation Program
The Money in Your Pocket Coalition (MIYPC) is now searching for volunteers to join us in providing free tax preparation to low-income households during the 2016 tax season. From January through mid-April, the MIYPC provides low-income families in Southwestern PA with free tax preparation to ensure their access to valuable tax credits that can help them achieve financial stability. This United Way Program serves families in Allegheny County and each refund dollar helps to pay for basic necessities like food, clothing, housing, and more.
Help them have an even greater impact in the community during the 2016 tax season by committing 3 or more hours per week at one of the 17 MIYPC tax sites in Allegheny County. Volunteers choose their schedule and tax site location and are trained and certified by United Way and the IRS before serving at the site. Registration is now open for Allegheny County volunteers, so be sure to register early to secure a spot at your preferred tax site and in the free MIYPC trainings.
Internships and continuing education credits are available for students, attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, and enrolled agents.
