The Jewish Federation Volunteer Center provides a network of resources that create meaningful volunteer opportunities and a centralized entry point for Pittsburgh’s Jewish community volunteers to get involved.
Based in the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh building in Oakland, our team is comprised of professional staff and dedicated community leadership who are in the business of “making matches” – between volunteers and the organizations that need them. We work with prospective volunteers, who share key information about their goals and interests, their availability and how much time they want to devote to volunteering. We work with agencies, organizations and synagogues, who share their needs. Then we make a match.
And, we don’t just walk away after that. Fiddler on the Roof’s Yenta milked matchmaking for its comedic value. We take our matchmaking seriously. We want you to have the best experience possible, so we stay in touch to make sure volunteering is all you want it to be. And when you’re ready for something new – or something more – we’re ready and eager to work with you again and connect you to another fulfilling volunteer opportunity.
